The South Shore of Nova Scotia got off relatively scott free yesterday with Hurricane Irene. We had intermittent rains and some high winds ... but not enough to disturb my lawn furniture. Thank God!
.
Some people and places were not so lucky. My prayers are with those who were affected: those who lost family or property. May God's comfort and provision be with them.
.
And no, I don't think the media hyped it up needlessly. You can NEVER be too careful when it comes to the forces of nature. Mother must be respected! And better safe than sorry.

I have a busy couple of days ahead of me as I say goodbye to my Baby Girl and welcome 2 new foreign babies. Hmmmm ... Two for one! A bargain? We'll have to wait and see if they can measure up to the Fair Libby! (I have my doubts.)
.
As all this airport activity will all happen over a 2 day period and there are several airport runs involved, I'll be staying in the city overnight with friends.
.
Can you say Value Village and/or the Market?
.
See you in a couple of days!

Glad you are OK. I agree with the arguing with Mother Nature.
She is in control and has had a temper lately.
Have a blast with your new girls.
Safe travels as you manuever back and forth to the airport! Heads up - the Junior World Beach Volleyball tourney is in Halifax this week so the airport will be busy, as will downtown Halifax (they're set up on the waterfront, Salter Street).
Never a dull moment in your world. I'm anxious to meet your new friends...Travel safely, Friend.
A trip to the city and VV is a good idea while waiting for planes and passengers. Good thing they weren't flying Sunday or today due to all the delays. I hope the new girls are equal to your beautiful Libby. (love that name) Blessings, Pamela
Glad to hear all is well there. Yes it is better to be safe than sorry for sure. Enjoy your two days of hellos and good byes.
I like your header photo for your blog, and that must be you flying down the hill having a barrel of fun. Glad to hear you are ok, I am on the west coast and have relatives on the east coast. Whew, it has been quite a ride for many people with the wind and rain from Irene.
Great that you did not get the promised forecast. We can all do without those challenges.
Just did some catch up reading on your blog! Wow! You've been busy. The yard sale looked fabulous; and your thrift scores were awesome; and the pictures of your little one and then all grown up shot---it goes by too fast, doesn't it?
