But I wanted to share some of the treasures I found during my vacation.
Because I have more than enough clothing -- enough to garb the entire mature, plump women in a small town, actually!-- I did not shop for clothing. (That's not to say that I didn't find or buy any more clothing ..... just that I'm too embarassed [and lazy] to tell you about them!)
My thrifting this summer focused on concentrated on household goods. Household goodies like these.
Something I've been searching for several years (but wouldn't pay the reg price of $20-$30); my patience has been rewarded -- $4 at Frenchies. |
The perfect lampshade for my antique lamp ($6) and the perfect pillow for my favorite chair in front of said lamp ($4) |
A couple of lovely vintage items: a Canadian centennial 1867-1967 water pitcher (a big WOW at $4) and a depression glass milk jug at $6. |
This gorgeous little depression era jam pot was bought at a little antique store; the "50% Off Everything" sign had me screeching to a halt. I paid a scandalous $12 for this -- but I fell in love. |
Your turn now. Did you find some wonderful thrifty finds this summer that you haven't shared yet?

I am so enjoying seeing all your thrifty finds today. It's been a good while since I've been out just to shop for anything but groceries. I love to browse and then feel the thrill of something really useful for a bargain. You certainly did a good job there. Wonderful buys all around.
You did great this summer! I didn't do quite as good as I have in the past but last week I found a silver (don't know if it's real) perfume amulet that I just love! I've been wearing it everywhere!
Love Di ♥
Lucky you, great score on the quilt top and all the other lovelies. I didn't even know they made a hanging rack for purses.
I love your finds. Daughter and I perused a thrift store today but it was in the afternoon and the good stuff had already been nabbed by those earlier than us. You've got a good eye for the finds, btw, I vote for M&M's and Skittles to go into your pretty glassware.
Love all your finds. The pitcher is my favorite. Enjoy.
Great finds, all. As for me - all my finds have been fabric or bits and pieces that will cause work for me in the winter!
You sure did find some great bargains - I especially liked the depression glass. Sandie
Those are quite the finds! Everything has become so overpriced in the shops I stop at. It's all in the timing though as a friend finds the best deals. I myself am on the hunt for old heavy irons to use as book ends.
Hi . I am a quilter and the quilt may be a little bit of a challenge. You may want to undo the quilting, add borders to the front and back, and more batting, then requilt. hth!
Oh those dresser jars~ swoon! And who knew? Purse organizer!
What a super find!! Yes, you should get yourself a gift......why not we all deserve to!!! Thanks for the lovely comment. Hugs anu
Ha! A PURSE ORGANIZER???!!!
Didn't even know they existed but I'm on the lookout now.
Love all of your thrifty finds!
I've not been shopping for much this summer.
But we Bears are such practical creatures; we really don't need many things. Living simply is our fashion.
But you have some lovely buys. Even a Canadian pitcher from the year I decided to see Western Canada. (Personal Centennial project.)
