Hello Sunshine!

This bundle of sunshine is what I had to leave behind in NL.  I cried on the plane and several times since then.  This grandma needs to be with the boy.  (Working on that one, aren't we God.)

I had a wonderful trip; it was the first time in over 20 years that I'd gone home in the winter.  And wow!  There sure was lots of snow; you couldn't see over the snow on the sides of the road where the plow had gone through.  Nor did it stop falling while I was home. Spring is always later on the west coast of Newfoundland than here in Nova Scotia.

So in spite of my aching heart (and arms), it was so pleasant to come back to bare pavement and smaller snow piles.  We've also had a couple of days of beautiful but cold sunshine which just lifts my spirits and makes me breathe deeper & sigh.  I can "feel" that spring is on its way.

This is what adorns my office desk this morning.  An unnecessary extravagance because a girl needs to be reminded that winter is on his way out ....... especially when she had a week's backload to catch up on.

I hope there's lots of sunshine in your life today.

What a lovely little man! I SO miss those days of carrying around a little wide-eyed, wispy haired bundle. Hope you get back to see him soon. And here's hoping for an end to winter--sooner rather than later!

Oh-So-Cute!
How difficult it must have been to leave. I understand your tears. This was a timely visit that you will hold in your heart for a very long time.

I do know what you are talking about amongst the 20 grandchildren I currently have only 4 of them are around to see on a regular basis. I do love it when I get to see them all, but saying goodbye is very hard.

What a living doll your Dante is! I was reading your profile and noticed you like Jan Karon books. I do, too. Those books are truly like friends. Have you watched the TV show "Corner Gas?" I thought you might have since it is set in Canada. It is a family favorite around here. Thank you for joining my Google Friend Connect.

Love love love babies. What a cutie you have. No wonder you didn't want to leave. Our babies are older now but so love to be with them and miss them when they have to leave.
Take care and soon you'll be seeing him again. Hugs, Barb

OH Sandy, Dante is a handsome little baby. So adorable! I know how you feel as we just got home from almost 2 weeks in Calgary visiting our 2 grandsons. It's so hard to be far away from our grandkids and not be able to see them in person very often. I'm glad you had a good visit and got to know him a bit. Will you be Skypeing with them? It sure helps.

It is hard to leave them, isn't it. Having sunshine to come home to makes it a little easier.

What a darling little guy. I hope you get to see him again soon. If not, Skype or Facetime is a good alternative. Not the same, but better than nothing... Lovely tulips!!

Oh my gosh! What an adorable face. I didn't know you were from Nova Scotia. What a beautiful place you live in. We loved our trip there several years ago.

We avoid returning to Chicago in winter too.
