Happy Spring!

.
Spring arrived this afternoon; and it was evident here in Nova Scotia. The sun was shining brightly even if a little cold. I could hear the outdoors calling me. So, after church, I changed into my work duds and donned my gardening sneakers and headed out.
.
I didn't take all of the thick leaf blanket off my flower beds; we could yet get snow. But I could help but have a closer look. It was marvelous! It filled my heart with joy to see all the little buds and bits of green.
.
After lolly-gagging around, peeping and smiling, I set myself to work at the leaves on the lawn. I needed the Vitamin D and the work-out.
I worked so hard and so long, that I actually broke the handle on my rake! But while I was working, I got to listen to the water in my little brook. What a sweet sound!
.
I rewarded my hard work with a late lunch. I can't remember what these flat, thin, crisp, cornmeal taco-type shells are called; they're Mexican and they're very good! I dressed them up with a tuna salad made with shredded carrots and green onions, topped them with a little shredded cheddar, popped them under the broiler, and then gave them a nice dollop of sour cream and a touch of salsa. Yum, yum!
.
My tootsies ache, there's a bit of a blister started on one finger, my back is a little sore and stiff and I feel deliciously exhausted. Collateral damage.
.
I am happy!

The flowers blooming are a sight to behold. Nothing like that here yet. My flower beds are covered with leaves and I can see the green shoots trying to poke through but snow is in our forecast later this week, so I'll leave them covered for now. I hope your Monday is a great one!

I'm always amazed how ya get bloomers before I do down in this frost holler I abide in!

God bless your beautiful Spring Day girl! :o)

deliciously exhausted...I love that. True that it feels so good to be tired from doing something that brings us joy. I can just hear that little babbling brook....as I sit here today with snow falling all around me. Not a green thing in sight. boo

Yum--I had my first authentic tostado (which is what your lunch looks like to me!) when we crossed the state line into New Mexico on our road trip last year. I swear, I had an out-of-body experience!
I am SOOO jealous of your garden! I'm actually looking at having to cancel a trip to Winnipeg tomorrow because they're calling for yet another winter storm. Boo hoo!

I love those crocuses, and your tuna covered tortillas look scrumptious.

Sounds like a good work day. Looking forward to your pretty flowers. I know it was a good feeling to be so tired from gardening.

I can so identify with the collateral damage . . . I've enjoyed working outside today! I love springtime and all its beauty! I enjoyed seeing your flowers - and am feeling a bit hungry after hearing about your lunch!

I came here after seeing your post on MA's blog!

Beautiful crocuses! It always feels so good mentally to get out and do yardwork, too bad it's not as physically rewarding too. But I love the reward you had. YUM!
