Rabbit, Rabbit -- It's May Day!

Well, what a fun month May is going to be. One of the reasons is that there are so many great foods to eat this month. It's a month for: carrots and cauliflower, barbeque, hamburger, eggs, salad, salsa, vinegar (malt ... on french fries?), potatoes and limes, and sweet vidalia onions. We should remember to drink extra water from the 1st to the 7th and drink our own home-made beer from the 16th to the 21st. It just so happens to be No Diet Day on the 6th (Yippee) and Eat What You Want Day on the 11th (Whoop, whoop!). It's Homebrew Day on the 7th, Nutty Fudge Day on the 12th, Chocolate Chip Day on the 15th, Pizza Party Day on the 15th, Rhubarb Day on the 20th and 21st, and Taffy Day on the 23rd as well as Turtle Day that same day (I'm assuming they mean the pecan caramel and chocolate kind). Which makes it kind of unfair that they also include Employee Fitness and Health Day on the 18th unless we take part all month in National Physical Fitness & Sports. But I'm thinking that that might interfere with all the eating and drinking that needs to be done.

.

Belch!!!! Excuse me!
.
Some of the other great holidays that I'll be indulging in this month are:

  • Get Caught Reading (just like that smart bunny above)

  • Community Living Month will be combined with Gifts from the Garden Month when I begin working on the local community garden.

  • National Smile Month

  • Women's Health Care Month

.

I will probably participate in Blame Someone Else Day on the 13th ..... and I'll probably keep practicing for the big day just as I've done for years!

.
It would also be great if we could ALL take part in World No-Tobacco Day on the 31st and even better if we could stamp it out entirely. Sorry smokers! I love you ..... but you're really stinky!
.
It's National Dance Day today, and I'll definately be taking part in that ... but I promise to wear clothing. And once again, I'll attempt my Newfoundland version of tap dancing on the 25th --- better known as stomping snakes.

.
If our darling Tolouse was still with us, we'd be taking part in Hug Your Cat Day on the 24th. As it is, I must accost unsuspecting felines roaming the neighbourhood!.

I could possibly be persuaded to take part in Respect for Chickens Day on the 4th if they all looked like that cutie in the picture on the left; but I ain't got no respect for that fella on the right!

.
And you can just forget about trying to convince me to take part in National Sea Monkey Day on the 16th. The regular ones are funny looking enough! But their king (queen?)? That's just terrifying!

.
.
I'm trying to keep all my negative emotions capped for another couple of days until I can let them all go at once in a gigantic Grump Out Day on the 4th. I'm also going to try to refrain from being part of Frog Jumping Day on the 13th (because if not done correctly, it gets kinda messy and sticks to your shoes.) And I simply refuse to take part in Stay up all Night (due to age and the sheer imposibility of it).

.

But let's all join with Susan, Gordon, Bob, Maria, Mr Hooper and the whole gang on the 25th to celebrate one of our favorites ...I don't know how old he is, but I would gladly agree to be blue and fuzzy if I could eat the way he has for the past 30 years and not gain weight. (And don't be taken in by that modern day imposter they call the Veggie Monster. He's not the same guy at all.)
.

Happy May my friends.

I didn't know there were so many things to celebrate this month!
I'm definitely going to enjoy Grump day!

Uh, were they dancing naked?
Awesome.

Hope you enjoy each of those special days. In fact, I think you should take a picture of your darling self celebrating each of those activities!

I found you in the blogroll at Empty Nest and couldn't resist the wonderful name of your blog. Glad to have found it!
