Canada's first Gold medal was won last night by 22 yr old Alexandre Bilodeau in the men's moguls freestyle skiing. All the performances were amazing -- the speed, the agility! But Alex's was just that much better.

He is also the epitomy of what the world thinks of when they think of Canadians --Alex is just so darned nice!!

His inspiration and motivation for his ski career has been his 29 yr old brother, Frederic, who has cerebral palsy. Frederic was told by doctors that he'd be unable to either walk or ski by the time he was 12; however, he defies doctors diagnosis and he still does both. The media showed Frederic several times last night as cheered his brother on and then celebrated that winning moment.

Ahhh, I just love it when the good guy wins!
Another proud Canadian moment.
A journey of exploration and discovery of who I am becoming during the aging process. A great big bang-up HURRAH! that I'm alive. A lot of talk about sundry and miscellaneous stuff & nonsense that may or may not have relevance; they may not even make sense (remember, I'm menopausal!). But I'm hoping they'll be fun.

Congrats to Canada! I'm right there with you on loving when a good guy wins! Wish there was a lot more of it happening!
We watched that win last night and I just had tears. It is so great when you see such awesome sportsmanship and love for family!
Your country should be proud of that great young man.
I'm glad you are enjoying it. We sure are.
This really is the perfect win for us!
"I just love it when the good guy wins" says it all.
What a proud moment for Canada, and for us all.
Woohoo, I just love a good miracle!!!
Have a great day and congratulations!
I was on the edge of my seat, we need a Hero right now after that terrible tragedy before the games started.
I'm just so proud to be Canadian right now, this little guy is just the sweetest and nicest.
Thanks for doing this post for anyone who might have missed our shining moment!
Oh, I think everybody wins in a moment like that! Congratulations!
