Happy Valentine's Day!

I changed my Xmas wreath (which is still on my door) into a Valentine's wreath. It's there to welcome you to have lunch with the girls and I today.

I usually prepare a special breakfast. But Adriana's at a sleep-over and Libby is still in bed. But I set the table and the treats are ready to be served when I come back from church at around noon. If you'll be here by 12:30, that would be perfect!
Here's a close-up of these cute plates that I got from the Dollar Store many years ago.
I made a delicious pasta salad and a green salad to go with our cold chicken and the fresh biscuits I've just made. They're a basic baking powder biscuit, but I like to add some grated lemon and orange peel. Yum!
I also made some pink cupcakes and I'm going to stuff them with a strawberry and cream cheese mixture. I've never done this before, but how can you go wrong with those ingredients!
Here they are, newly stuffed. Now I'll add some icing sugar to the remaining mixture and frost them.
I put a couple of almond slivers on the top to form a heart shape. Don't they look good?

And another tradition I have is to put a small gift on each plate. This year it's a pair of Dollar Store socks and a cup-o-hugs and kisses.
I don't have these cups, but I wish I did.
After lunch and a little conversation, I'll bid you adeau and Happy Valentine's Day with a parting hug. Come back soon!

Now, I'd better call my daughters and wish them a Happy Valentine's Day. I miss them on days like this, days full of tradition and the love that fills them.
Happy Valentine's Day my blogging buddies. You are very dear to me and fill some of the empty spaces in my life with your love, laughter and tears. May your day be wonderful!

What a wonderful way to celebrate the day of love! I would say that I hope you had a good one, but I'd have to say it appears you had a great one!

I hope ya'll had the best Valentine's Day. How could you miss with all that lovin' going on???

I'm so sorry I missed it. Hubby and I had a picnic on the hearth roastin' hot dogs and marshmallows in the fireplace with a Nascar race in the background. Ahhhh, nothin' says lovin' like the roar of a speeding engine! Heeeheehe!!!

You have the best week sweetie and may God richly bless it!!!

You are so incredibly creative! I never would have even thought to turn my Christmas wreath into a Valentine's wreath - and now that I look at it, it would be so easy - following your lead, I shall do so next year!
Your cupcakes look scrumptious! Were they as good as you'd hoped?
