Organization at Last!

.
My Saturday was spent in taking down the tree and undecorating downstairs. Today, I tackled my bedroom which had been used as the drop-off for everything that had been removed to make room for Christmas. And, of course, because of my foot, very little cleaning had been done over the past 2 months. Eek! Most of the room looked like this ..... and much worse.

.
How wonderful it is to be able to take on a job like this again. I love cleaning and organizing! Really! And I shall sleep better tonight knowing that I've restored order and cleanliness to my special sanctuary. It once again smells like lavender and L'Air de Temps (and one corner smells remarkably like chocolate!). Later tonight, I'll light some candles and recline on my comfy bed to watch "Downton Abbey" on Masterpiece Theatre, one of my favorite Sunday night pastimes.

..
But first, this tired body and achey, no- longer-breakie foot will soak here for a long time.

I adore a long soak and a glass of bubbly. (In this case, ginger ale.). Let us sing the praises of a good bath....

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is a noble thing!
.
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain,
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Love the post and the poem! And I certainly agree w/ the bath thing. There is nothing better than a long soak w/ a good novel or a new sewing mag!

Nothing like a long soak in a hot tub. Bliss.

My office-come-dining-room is in a far worse state than your photo. I keep promising NOT to leave things on the table, or the floor, but in my hasty (lazy) way I *forget*.

It's now so CLUTTERED with DVDs, CDs, books, papers, magazines and other detritus that I look at it in despair. FAR too much to tackle today. Manana, (perhaps).
