Thrifty Finds for Jan 20.11

.
It's Thursday; so time to join Thrifty Thursday over at Tales From Bloggeritaville. What did I find this week?
.
  • Two pairs of gloves. A girl can never have too many pairs at this time of year.
.
  • Two new journals: one for my brother-in-law (the golfing nut) and one probably for me (a regular nut).
.
  • A beautiful shear, black beaded scarf; at $1.85, a much better price than the $20 one I looked at earlier in the week and just as pretty.

    .
  • A small 8" dia glass pie plate for 50 cents; perfect for those little bits of pie dough that are left over. (And maybe I won't even share it! I mean, what's an 8" pie? Single serving, right?)

.

  • And, saving the best for last, these gorgeous red flats. If I have to give up my heels, then I wanna go in style. I found these Clark Artisan shoes in pristine condition; if I bought them new, they'd cost me in the vicinity of $60-$80. My price = $4.00 (and the dear old lady at The Daisy almost apologized for it!)

.

I love it when the Thrifting Gods smile on me!

What great finds! I love the shoes and the scarf especially. The beaded scarf I have seen for fifty dollars. Giving up the heels will be difficult, but your angle will thank you. Enjoy the snow this weekend! :)

I have a pair of shoes like that and mine cost a little more than you paid (and I got them in a sale) Well done. I love the colour of the blue gloves too. That's one of my favourite blues. I recently started to go to the new Heart Foundation shop that opened in town - they have some amazing gifts and clothes at a staggeringly cheap price and all virtually new.
Many thanks for visiting me and leaving that lovely comment...I liked the idea that you get yourself something nice for all those celebrations...good on you :)
I had a friend who would buy herself her Christmas present in January or February, wrap it up immediately and put it away. When I asked why she replied that by December she would have forgotten what she had bought herself and it would be a nice surprise!

In your red shoes and scarf you are eligible to comment on the fashions at the Golden Globes. I'm so glad you found my blog so I could find yours!
