I love that in the midst of ice and snow and this month of storm after storm after storm, there is warmth to be found in small wonderful things:
.....in a cup of tea at work and a shared conversation, laughing at the frustrations of dealing with modern-day technology as well as old-fashioned jerks on the phone.
|
..... in a lovely pair of recycled/refashioned mittens made from an old sweater. I bought them at a craft show last year, and they're my favorite pair of mittens. |
..... in a warm muffin with butter -- Streusel topped Strawberry Rhubarb muffins, to be exact; and they remind me of the warmth of last summer.. |
What's helping to keep you warm (and sane) this winter?

The trail looks so lovely! Comfy mittens and yummy muffin :) I drink copious amounts of tea in winter!
A relative made us mittens like that for Christmas. Aren't they THE BEST!!!!
My mother used to tell us to go outside to blow the stink off ya. I am sure she got that saying from her own mother and that goes back a long time.
No matter the weather, there is always something to be grateful for if we look.
Love the mittens! It's already warmed up to the 80 s over here In Texas! Sorry! But I would love another cold front... Wouldn't mind it one bit. Stay warm.:)
The muffin looks yummy. I'll stay inside rather than walk in the snow. LOVE those recycled/refashioned mittens made from an old sweater.Just so charming.
I just read an article yesterday that said if you're cold you should think warm fuzzy thoughts. I've been trying to do a lot of that this winter. I must say that I've fallen in love with a berry tea that I found at the store too. Warms me up in nothing flat. Hope you continue to stay warm and cozy.
So many wonderful things! I made some blueberry bread with blueberries that we picked last summer. It's so nice to have memories of warm weather when there's snow on the ground!
Thanks for linking up to the Spin Cycle!
I'm a big fan of a fleece blanket tucked under me tightly on the couch with a good book in my hands. IN fact, that's what I can be found doing most nights after the kids go to bed.
I just want to jump into that winter scene. Great photography.
I can relate to a nice cup of tea with some indulgent gluten muffins!
Sandy, thank you for stopping by my Panoply blog and leaving a comment. I love meeting new friends with a post that catches someone's attention with a like interest. I've added myself to your circles so I can follow your posts. Your location alone fascinates (winter, from a distance, but still fascinating), so I look forward to getting to know you more. I love that saying - 'blow the stink off'.
