Shovelling through a Winter Wonderland

We had a lovely blizzard yesterday afternoon. The snow came down for hours and hours; I hunkered down at home and cleaned.
*
This morning, I had to go to the doctor for 9:30; so the snow had to be shovelled. I woke at 7 am, and this is what I saw when I opened my front door.

While the girls snoozed and snoozed, I shovelled and shovelled. It was a nice temperature (about 1 deg Celsius), quiet and peaceful, and the snow was light yet it clumped together. A very good workout!

Here's the scene after my shovelling.

Day was breaking as I finished and walked back to the house. Tea on the sofa sounded great about that time.

I've not had to shovel yet and am not looking forward to it either. So far what we've had could be swept away with a broom. I always sweep the porch and steps off and down the front walkway so it's not slippery for anyone coming in. When my boys were home it was great to have help, I'd wake them up if there was shoveling to do.

Take care driving in it.

It is beautiful for us to see here in the south - but I bet you all get tired of the white stuff.

That is such a beautiful sight. I'm one of those crazy people that can't get enough snow. Good think I live where I do. BUT this year so far all we have is a skiff. Not sure if we can have Christmas without it.
Love the front porch view.

Ugh to shoveling = P

It is a nice workout and I really don't know why I complain about doing it. I do some, and by some, I mean a little corner of it while my hubby and boys do almost all of it. I just kind of point and direct. My hubby thinks I shouldn't do it as long as there are men in the house.

They can ave at it! Thank goodness for chivalrous acts of manliness, hahaha.

You shoveled while the girls slept... now I ask, what's wrong with that picture? LOL It is a good workout. If I could just sit inside and look out at the stuff I would probably love snow but we have to keep the cattle fed, waterers thawed, break the ice on the ponds, carry in wood while icicles form on my lashes. Therefore I am a summer gal!

Have a warm snuggley day!

WOW that's a lot of snow! Good thing it isnt that cold!

Are the NS airports open again now? My BIL is coming on Wednesday morning and every single flight he has been on since I have known him has been missed or delayed or cancelled because of weather...I am sure this time wont be any different!

Love your Mr. Grinch music! We've been lucky--haven't had enough to shovel, so far!

We got 24" so I know what you are saying, I just dug out the front walkway today. Exquisite snowfall.

May your celebration be joyous ...

Good grief, you shoveled all that?!!!! That's the good thing about living in the South - I've never even SEEN a snow shovel!
That scene outside your door looks like some fabulous decoration you could expect to pay $50 for - or, knowing you, $1.50 at a thrift store!

I have not visited you in a while - forgive me. What a life you lead... out in 1 degree temperatures shoveling snow at 7am... I cannot even imagine. Over here, at present, at 7am temperatures are about 28 degrees and we are already sweating. I just love the photo of what greeted you when you opened the front door.

OMG Sandy, I am so impressed with the snow shoveling. That is hard labor. We had lots of snow too and without out 4 wheel drive we would have been snowed in. Our problem is mountain roads.

May Peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through!
Christmas Greetings to you and your family.
