Thrifty Thursday - 24 Jun 10

.
.
Ahhhh! Thursday .......... one of my favorite days of the week.
  1. It's the day before Friday - my half day and the start of the weekend..
  2. It's usually a good TV viewing night (but not in summer)
  3. It's time for weekly Thrifty Thursday at Bloggeritaville
.
.
I've been too busy lately with teenage beauty queens and Mexican suitcases to spend much time thrifting. (Plus I'm saving for this weekend. Shhhh! It's a secret!) But last Saturday after I dropped my youngest off for her early morning shift at Dirty Macs (aka MacDonalds), I saw that my neighbors across the street were just opening up for a yard sale. And I went by to be neighborly!

.
I bought 5 more blast-from-the-past CD's (Paul McCartney, Blue Rodeo, Anne Murray, The Divine Miss M and Jesus Christ Superstar) for $1 each.
.
And I got these gorgeous little vintage juice glasses for 50 cents each. Aren't they darling!
Elephants and Piggies!
.
.
Don't forget to drop by Thrifty Thursday to check out the other great thrifting finds. I'll see you there.
.
.
And now, if you'll pardon me, there's work to be done ... and the nearness of Friday to be anticipated.

.
"Later" my dear bloggie friends!

Wow! You certainly hit the juice glass jackpot!

Those pink elephant glasses are quite popular!

How nice of you to be neighbourly!

LOve the glasses Sandy, and I would kill for a copy of The Divine Miss M. I had that record album years ago, but sadly it got destroyed along with all my other albums. I know I could probably buy one brand new . . . but I miss my old one. xxoo

I hope your Thursday is a great one! Fridays used to be my favorite day of the week, but now they are pretty much all my favorites. Your glasses are so cute. My DD collects pigs and would love them.

Such a good find! Those glasses appear to be "Pink Elephant" by Bartlett-Collins Glass Company - Cocktail Tumblers @ $8 each. (according to my book)

What fun finds! I forgot to say I like the title of your blog. I'm 57, and never was ashamed or reluctant to say how old I was. I remember saying I was looking forward to being old enough for senior discounts. Now, though, I see my parents and other older people having a variety of health issues, and it makes me want to get fit again. The one thing about aging that I don't look forward to is anything that could take away independence, and especially the ability to garden.
