Someone doesn't appreciate her mother's joie de'vivre!
*I took Molly back to the city on Saturday. But we got an early start so we could drive the old highway and take in some of the 100 mile yard sale. (I'll post about that later in the week.) We drove from 9 to 1 pm, stopping many, many times along the way. (This route would normally have taken an hour to accomplish! But Ohhh! The bargains!) Then we took advantage of our location and stopped for lunch at Julian's in Chester.*
We had tomato parmesan soup, home-roasted turkey sandwich and a wonderful bowl of latte.
*
Then came dessert!
*This one is mine: It has a thin sponge bottom, a thin layer of chocolate mousse, a thick layer of ginger mousse and is topped with meringue. It was gorgeous!!
*
This is Molly's: a chocolate cookie crust, a dense strawberry-puree cheesecake, and a generous top layer of dark chocolate. Equally gorgeous!
*
After I dropped my girl off, I once again took advantage of my location. I stopped at Value Village, Homesense and Winner's before heading back home. But once again, that's another post!
*
I've unpacked my goodies, soaked my tootsies and kissed my girls. I bid you sweet dreams!

This sounds like a fun birthday, delicious food and a 100 mile sale too. What a day!
What a yummy day!!! Daughters seldom appreciate their mom's joi de vivre at that age . . . it is much later in life when they come to appreciate it for the treasure it truly is!! xxoo
Sounds like the perfect day! Looking forward to seeing your finds!
Country Blessings,
Cindy
That strawberry cheesecake is calling me!

can't wait to see your goodies! Sounds like a wonderful day.
Once a gain I feel so good after I have visited you on you blog. I hope you will be very successful with your gardening this summer and am looking forward to see it "grow".
Great food - now I have to go to the kitchen for something sweet. Bet all I find is peanut butter.
What wonderful deserts. It would be hard to pick which I like best. It sounds like you had a wonderful day. This is my first visit to your blog, but I'll be back often. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary
What a fun, exhausting day!
Those desserts look absolutely YUMMY!
Looking forward to the further posts of this adventure.
Hello! I just came over from Mary's "place". Could you please give me the address of that restaurant? I am seriously desiring both of those desserts and the bowl of latte. I'm looking forward to exploring more of your delicious blog so I clicked on the "follow" button.
Best,
Bonnie
Correction-I tried to click on the "follow" button. I think Google is experiencing some sort of problem this morning. Later though!
You're on! May I bring my daughter-in-love? She is a great, great fan of Lucy Maude Montgomery. I'm sure I would be too and plan to read her books--maybe this summer over a cup of tea.
Best,
Bonnie
I purchased the lemon grass (it's very soft and tender like fresh) from Whole Foods. Here's the website of the Roland Co. in case you don't have Whole Foods:
