Beach Day - Apr 3.11

. Sunday was a beautiful day on the South Shore. So after church, we headed to Risser's Beach.. We all wrote in the sand, and Molly and I spent a lot of time collecting shells, beach glass and sand dollars. It was a stellar day for sand dollars: we found 40! Do you see Ms Packman? . Carolina sat for a long time, perhaps just soaking up the sunshine, perhaps dreaming of Mexico; perhaps both. . On our way home, we stopped at LaHave Bakery. .
..... brownies, carrot cake, a Molly square, a scone ... delicious coffee and hot chocolate. And story telling and laughter -- lots of laughter..
It was a tonic for the soul after this long, cold winter (which I'm sure will make another attempt to dampen our spirits before it finally give up for the year).

.

And it was a beautiful testament to the glory of God's creation and His love for us. It was a day when I felt glad to be alive. It was a day when I felt glad not only to be loved but so glad for the opportunity to love!

.

It was a good, good day!

You are describing a perfect day in this post. What fun for all.
I see you are reading Donna Leon, and I plan to buy her first book in that series.

I just love it! Being able to go to the beach right now would be wonderful. Here I live close to the north shore of Lake Erie and it is beautiful in the summer time. So far though we've not had any nice days that would make it worthwhile to visit. The wind off the lake is very cold. Those girls are so lucky to be staying with you. I'm sure their trip wouldn't be half as interesting with out you!

Sounds like the perfect way to spend a Sunday--church and then extending out into God's wonderful world with those you love.

Best,
Bonnie

That sounds like a wonderful day. I love sanddollars! Did you break one open and find the 5 seagulls in it?

I could almost hear the sea from your descriptions!
