The mail arrived!

Look what I found in my mail box on Friday afternoon. *
All of you other gardeners out there will know exactly how I felt when I saw it --- clasping it to my bosom, angelic choirs singing overhead, whilst doves encircled my head. Be still my beating heart! (And the fact that I'd inadvertently allowed my subscription to lapse this winter [the excitement of Xmas perhaps??] made this issue all the sweeter to behold!)

*

As well, this isn't even my regular spring issue! This is the free gardening guide they gave me for renewing my subscription! (Scared them, didn't I.) But what a great guide it is. Look at some of these wonderful articles:*

And the fantastic pictures!! I especially like this one because it looks so similar to the paths in my side garden. *

Ohh! I can't wait until my hands look like this! I'm jealous of all of you gardeners out there who are already pruning and digging and planting. Still, the anticipation of spring and gardening is such a great feeling! So, no! I take that back; I'm not jealous. I'll keep just fine!

We had 2 storm days this weekend with high winds and rain. So, all the snow is gone (for now). And when I looked at my front garden, there were little green shoots coming up! It's so exciting!!

*

It was pretty cold today. But just after lunch, the sun came out, streaming in the window of my office at work -- warm and bright and full of promise. So, I pretended I was a cat (a large, somewhat non-furry, plump cat). I swivelled my chair towards the window, stretched my arms and upper body over a small desk, and laid my head down ----- and purred with delight!!!

*

My boss may be lying in the sun on a beach in Cuba; but I'm lying in the sun on a desk in Bridgewater AND skiving off at the same time! Haha! I laugh in the face of danger! Take that boss man!!

*

*

Please don't tell!

I'm a poor single mother with a mortgage and a chocolate habit to support!

18 more days until spring!

I have my gardening magazines neatly stacked under one corner of my coffee table just teasin' and taunting me. Snow was in the air all day today, just nasty. But dog gone it we will have spring!

Enjoy your mag and have a super day!!!

I love getting new gardening magazines. It looks like there is lots of inspiration in that one!
Glad you're seeing some green and sun. Tell you're boss you were just storing up some Vitamin D so you could work even harder :)

We're hoping for an early spring here! The snow is all gone and the forecast is for weather in the 40s. Not typical for Maine in early March.

Ohhh! I love the phrase "garden porn"! I'm gonna steal that one.

And yes, I have green shoots coming up (and you do too under your snow). But they're talking snow for Thursday. Still -- spring is on it's way!!

Oh, I know EXACTLY how you feel!! I just moved up north from Florida, and if I were back down south I'd be elbow deep in dirt by now!

Now, I just anxiously wait for the snow to melt so I can at least see the grass once more! Soon!!!

and I love the longer days.

Those photos really get me thinking and dreaming... this is the time of year to dream big and make lists from all those catalogs. I love it, until I have to actually get out there with my shovel, ouch!

Oh yes, the gardening and seed catalogs! Working at the post office, I've been seeing these for quite some time. The past couple of weeks, it seems that's ALL we've been sending out...well, ALMOST all, except for the swimsuit catalogs and the Easter stuff and...get this...the CHRISTMAS 2010 catalogs!!! OH YES!

Love it that you keep a daily countdown til spring! We had snow yesterday morning, huge flakes again, but it didn't stick, and it's supposed to be in the 60's by Saturday!!! Yippee!

I sure hope Springs knows that there is only 18 more days! LOL! It was nice here one day and then cold and windy the next. It won't make up it's mind.

I'm sad though, because we are trying to sell our house so I'm going to have to save my planting for when and if we move.

Hugs
Kim
