Happy St Urho's Day

.
"Legend says St. Urho chased the grasshoppers out of ancient Finland, thus saving the grape crop and the jobs of Finnish vineyard workers. He did this by uttering the phrase: “Heinäsirkka, heinäsirkka, mene täältä hiiteen” -- roughly translated: “Grasshopper, grasshopper, go to Hell!”."

.

.

All I can say is HUGE cudoos to the Finns for having weather nice enough on March 16th that the grasshoppers had multiplied in such numbers that they needed to be driven out.

.
I'll be wearing the appropriate green and purple today and relaxing later with a glass of grape juice.

So on March 16th St Urho drove the grasshoppers out of Finland. On March 17th St Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland. Bloody copycat!
