When I'm busy, I don't eat right. When I don't eat right, I don't sleep
well. When I don't sleep well, my hands and wrists ache in the morning from arthritis and I shlump at work. When I ache and shlump, I crave the wrong kind of food; and then my emergency supply of food at work (granola bars, chocolate covered almonds, peanuts, etc) gets depleted. When I eat too much of that stuff, I bloat and feel fat. As it's cold at work, I then resort to wearing my "man" sweater which is always hanging in the stock room.
Kinda looks like this one..... except with less shape and more nubbles! |
It's not really attractive and doesn't go with my little black pencil skirts and kitten heels. But when I wear it, I don't have to hold my stomach in ---- the stomach full of granola bars and microwave popcorn!
In honor of my faithful "man" sweater, and to give you a break from Christmas music, here's an oldie:
"The Sweater Song" by Meryn Cadell!
Let's see if you can relate!

everybody has a man sweater hidden somewhere , we have a couple of communal fleeces that hang near the door , for the days when your home alone and we dont have the heat on
It's a vicious circle isn't it? I hope you can get off the "traffic circle" and head in the right direction to better health. I love a big ol' cozy sweater like that. Take care.
Made me smile. A big old sweater makes you feel all comfy, cozy, for sure.
I have more than one big old sweater here to keep warm. I haven't worn a skirt in so long that I can't remember when...I like being warm. Can't take the cold. Hope you keep cozy.
Mine isn't a man sweater, but one my daughter wore during her pregnancy (her little guy was born in January). She tossed it into a Value Village bag and I pulled it out before the bag left the house. On frosty mornings I pull it on over my nightie or PJs and slop around all day in it!
I love that song!!! Must find it on iTUnes and give it a download.
Loved the post and liked the song even more. Brings back memories of other mementos besides sweaters that guys loaned me. Or gave me. Or whatever. Fun to remember. Good Lord where did those days go to???
Hugs, Barb
Don't know if you read my blog recently but I lost my husband last month and am moping around trying to use up some of my lonely days by blog hopping. Left such a huge ragged hole in my heart. Blessings to you. Your posts always lift my spirits. Barb
